Job summary

Randstad CPE requires an experienced 360 Excavator Operator for a major earthworks project in Darlington. You will operate 360 excavators to perform bulk earthworks, trenching, drainage and muck shifting, working closely with groundworkers and plant teams to hit targets.

You must hold a valid CPCS/NPORS card for 360 above 10 tonnes, wear full PPE, and be CIS registered. The role includes daily safety checks and adherence to site regulations on a busy construction site in the UK.

Qualifications

• Valid CPCS or NPORS card (360 Above & Below 10 Tonnes) is essential.
• Proven experience operating 360 excavators on large-scale earthworks or groundworks.
• Full PPE (Hard hat, high-vis, safety boots) and CIS registration.

Responsibilities

• Operate 360 excavators for bulk earthworks, trenching, grading and muck shifting.
• Coordinate with groundworkers, dumper drivers and roller operatives to maintain progress and quality.
• Perform daily pre-start inspections and routine maintenance checks; ensure attachments are secured.

Job Title: 360 Excavator Operator - Earthworks

Location: Darlington

Pay Rate: £21.00 per hour (CIS)

We are currently seeking an experienced 360 Excavator Operator to join a major earthworks project based in Darlington.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate 360 excavators for bulk earthworks, deep drainage, trenching, grading, and muck shifting.


• Work in close coordination with groundworkers, dumper drivers, and roller operatives to maintain progress and accuracy to levels.


• Perform daily pre-start inspections, routine maintenance checks, and ensure all attachments are safely secured.


• Maintain strict adherence to site health and safety standards, exclusion zones, and underground utility guidelines.

Requirements

• Valid CPCS or NPORS card (360 Excavator Above & Below 10 Tonnes essential).


• Proven experience operating excavators on large-scale earthworks or groundworks projects.


• Full PPE (Hard hat, high-vis, safety boots).


• Valid CIS registration.


• Strong reliability, precise machine control, and a focus on site safety.
