Job summary

Barker Ross Group seeks an experienced 360 Excavator Operator for a 7-month infrastructure project in the Shetland Islands. You will handle large open-cut trenching, install three 8-inch power ducts and fibre cables, and continue trenching along a carriageway with tarmac reinstatement.

Required CPCS/NPORS qualification, experience with 8t/14t excavators, and ability to work outdoors on a demanding rotation. Travel to Shetland and accommodation are provided by the client.

Responsibilities

• Operate 360 excavator on site to excavate and trench as required.
• Assist with channeling and installing ducts and cables within the works.
• Ensure safe operation and comply with site rules and inspections.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced 360 Excavator Operator for a 7-month infrastructure project in the Shetland Islands.

The project involves approximately 1,500 metres of large open-cut trenching through fields and peatland, installing three 8-inch power ducts and fibre optic cables, plus a further 2,400 metres of trenching along a carriageway, including tarmac reinstatement.

Requirements:

• Experienced 360 Excavator Operator
• Experience operating 8-tonne or 14-tonne excavators
• Experience laying/reinstating tarmac is essential
• Previous utilities, ducting, trenching or infrastructure experience preferred
• Fit and capable of working on a demanding outdoor project
• Reliable and able to commit to the full rotation
• References required from previous employers
• Relevant CPCS/NPORS qualification required11 days on / 4 days off, with travel to and from Shetland and accommodation paid for by the client.
