Job summary

VHR Global Technical Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Senior Authorised Person (SAP) for 33kV HV work, primarily based in South Yorkshire with UK-wide travel. You will join an established electrical engineering business delivering HV installation, maintenance and refurbishment projects, combining SAP duties with active involvement in delivery alongside fitters and commissioning teams.

The role requires SAP authorisation up to 33kV, practical HV experience, and a solid understanding of

Qualifications

SAP authorisation experience up to 33kV (or above)
Practical HV installation, maintenance, commissioning or fitting experience
Strong understanding of HV switchgear, transformers, switching schedules and safety procedures
Experience leading site teams and resolving technical issues
Recognised electrical apprenticeship or relevant electrical qualification
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel

Responsibilities

Carry out HV switching, isolation and earthing activities up to 33kV.
Issue, manage and control electrical safety documentation.
Establish safe systems of work and brief site teams.
Lead and support electrical fitters, cable jointers and subcontractors.
Assist with HV installation, maintenance, inspection and fault-finding activities.
Coordinate outages, testing, commissioning and safe return-to-service operations.
