Job summary

Swift Temps South West, in partnership with Royal Mail, is sourcing Postal Delivery Workers for Bridgwater. The role is part-time, 30–40 hours weekly, with weekend requirements as per the depot.

You will start at the local delivery office, collect your vehicle or trolley and a handheld device, then deliver letters and parcels to your community. You should be upbeat, self-motivated and able to work alone or as part of a team.

Qualifications

• DBS security check required prior to commencing
• Full UK manual driving licence
• Max 6 penalty points
• Some previous customer-facing or delivery experience preferred but not essential

Due to an increase in demand, Swift Temps are working in partnership with the Royal Mail to source Postal Delivery Workers to support with their busy operation.

• Location: Bridgwater
• Working Hours: 30-40 hours per week, with Saturday/Sunday requirements as per the depot's requirements
• Hourly Rate: £13.37 per hour PAYE

About the Postal Delivery Worker role:

You'll start your day in the local delivery office, sorting and gathering the mail needed for your route. You will collect your allocated vehicle or trolley and your hand-held computer device (detailing your route and tracking your mail) and then deliver the letters and parcels to your local community.

About You:

• The ideal candidate for this role will be upbeat, self-motivated, and happy to work alone as well as part of a team.
• You will be helpful and approachable displaying a strong sense of community, as you get to know the people you meet on your round.
• Royal Mail deliver parcels whatever the weather, so you will enjoy working outdoors and due to the amount of walking required you will need to be relatively fit and healthy.
• You will be smartly presented, always acting in a professional and courteous manner.

Previous Experience:

• Some previous experience in a customer facing or delivery role would be ideal but not essential.
• You will be required to complete a full DBS security check prior to commencing work.
• Driving licence requirements
• A full UK manual driving licence (in your current UK address)
• Maximum 6 penalty points
