Job summary

Adecco is hiring an HGV Refuse Collection Driver to join a team of key workers, offering a strong work-life balance with pre-planned routes and set start/finish times. The role includes refuse/recycling collections, vehicle checks, and accurate on-the-go reporting.

You’ll use in-cab tech, maintain safety and cleanliness, and interact professionally with customers. Overtime is available, with weekly pay and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Valid HGV Class 2 licence with no more than 6 points.
• Willingness to assist refuse loaders to complete routes within SLA.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out refuse and recycling collections daily.

Job description

HGV Refuse Collection Driver to join a team of valued key workers and help make a positive difference to the environment we all live and work in.

As a HGV Refuse Collection Driver, you’ll:

• Carry out refuse and recycling collections daily, with skills and knowledge of all machinery aspects of the job
• Undertake all duties in a professional manner deploying safe lifting and handling techniques appropriate to articles left for removal
• Use in-cab technology and mobile devices as directed
• Complete relevant paperwork in real time
• Carry out daily inspections and reporting for machinery and vehicles, before and after use
• Ensure the cleanliness of machinery and vehicles.
• Maintain excellent customer and client relations, particularly with members of the public and other motor users

Your typical working hours will be:

2.00pm to 10.00pm Monday to Friday

What you’ll need to do the role:

• Valid HGV Class 2 driving licence (with no more than 6 points)
• Driver CPC
• Willingness to help refuse loaders while on your rounds to enable your team to complete the route within the service level agreement
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated
• Willingness to undertake tasks
• Clean drivers licence
• Previous relevant experience desirable, but not essential
