Job summary

Wates Group is seeking a Bid Manager for the West Region (Manchester or Birmingham). The role focuses on 2nd stage/PCSA delivery to convert bids into contracts, collaborating with design, commercial and delivery teams to shape buildable solutions.

You will drive alignment between design development, commercial strategy and programme, while managing client outcomes and risk. Hybrid collaboration with on-site activity is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience leading bids as Bid Manager, especially 2nd stage/PCSA.
• Proven track record on complex public sector schemes.
• Ability to build credible client partnerships and influence outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the 2nd stage/PCSA process from preferred bidder to award.
• Develop a conversion strategy aligned to client objectives.
• Coordinate with Design, Commercial and Operations for buildable solutions.
• Maintain strong client, consultant and stakeholder relationships for conversion.
• Manage risk, VE and design development in pre-construction.
• Lead governance with approvals, cost plans and programmes.
• Support smooth handover into delivery teams for project success.
