Job summary

CDW is seeking a 2nd Line Network Engineer in the United Kingdom to provide advanced technical support alongside 3rd line resolver teams. You will diagnose incidents, perform device upgrades, and assist with change management while maintaining strong customer relationships.

You'll work with Cisco/Firewall technologies (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Meraki, F5, Azure and AWS) and support transitions for new customers, including remote assistance and knowledge development in a fast-paced,

Qualifications

• Experience in a SLA-driven support role.
• Proven experience delivering projects and complex changes.
• Extensive knowledge working within a Cisco Switch/Router environment.
• Knowledge of Fortinet, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Cisco Meraki, F5, Azure and AWS.
• Good communication skills, verbal and written.
• Ability to take ownership of and progress incidents to resolution or escalation when necessary.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a team.
• Desirable knowledge: Netscaler / F5 Load balancers; Security Clearance (SC) or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve incidents escalated from 1st line.
• Provide end-user technical solutions for monitored areas.
• Log monitoring and analysis; rule base auditing and advisory.
• Device software upgrades, patches, and bug fixes.
• Backup/Restore configurations; change management.
• Collaborate with 3rd line support to resolve critical issues.
• Maintain technical accreditations and scheduled tasks.
• Escalate with vendors when needed; handovers between shifts.
• Assist the Service Desk and 1st Line Engineers; remote support.
