Job Description

This is an exciting time to join us as we enhance our infrastructure, systems, and processes through the creation of Optoma Holding in the UK. This role is pivotal in connecting users, our outsourced IT partner, and the IT systems we deploy.

Expect to work on a variety of environments, gaining broad experience across projects.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform routine network maintenance including backups, security measures, user account management, and logging.
  2. Test and install new software, hardware, and peripherals.
  3. Provide second-line support.
  4. Maintain networks, hardware, and software as trained.
  5. Monitor repair logs and coordinate repairs.
  6. Check and maintain peripheral equipment such as printers and projectors.
  7. Maintain equipment inventories.
  8. Assist with procurement to ensure value for money.
  9. Support teaching and learning by providing technical assistance.

Candidate Specification

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, supporting IT initiatives and projects, and contribute to designing IT infrastructure solutions. You will also gain hands-on experience in various IT roles.

Key Skills and Competencies

  1. Diagnose technical issues quickly, in person, over the phone, or via a ticketing system.
  2. Communicate technical problems clearly to users at all levels.
  3. Possess excellent communication skills, both spoken and written.
  4. Strong problem-solving and proactive analytical skills.
  5. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  6. Attention to detail.
  7. Experience supporting laptops, desktops, and printers.
  8. Support and administration of Office 365.
  9. Support for networking devices such as DHCP, Wi-Fi, routers, broadband.
  10. Support for Windows and desktop software, including Microsoft Office.
  11. Basic understanding of cloud concepts.
  12. Previous experience in a similar role.

Essential Skills

  1. Assist with backups, restores, and disaster recovery.
  2. Monitor hardware/system performance and tune as needed.
  3. Maintain system documentation and user accounts.
  4. Install system-wide software and maintain secure operation of multi-user systems.
  5. Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate or CompTIA A+ are advantageous.
