Job summary

Randox Laboratories is seeking a Software Test Manager to lead the Software Test Engineering Team at our Antrim site. The role focuses on overseeing daily testing activities, developing test strategies, and ensuring quality across engineering software products.

You will work with project managers to estimate testing efforts, recruit staff, and drive continuous improvement in software testing processes. This is a full-time, permanent onsite position with standard 40-hour weeks.

Qualifications

• Degree in a software-related discipline.
• 5+ years in a Software Test environment.
• Previous software management experience.
• Knowledge of software lifecycle, traceability, risk verification, regression testing.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Experience with manual and automated testing.

Software Test Manager – (Job Ref: 26N/SFTM)

Location

Fully onsite - Randox Science Park, 30 Randalstown Road, Antrim, BT41 4FL.

Contract Offered

Full-time, Permanent.

Working Hours / Shifts

40 hours per week, either 5 days, 8.40am to 5.20pm or 4 days 6.40am to 5.20pm.

What does this role involve?

This role is responsible for the verification of software of engineering products, as well the supervision of the software testing team. The main duties of the role include:

• Daily supervision of the Software Test Engineering Team, including conducting appraisals and assisting in the recruitment of new staff.
• Report on status of test projects to direct and senior management.
• Create test strategies for standalone software products or new products containing software.
• Develop the Software Test team’s understanding of software and analyser platforms to develop appropriate test protocols and broaden team expertise.
• Create, locate and acquire data required for testing assignments.
• Estimate Software Testing activities as required by the Project Manager.
• Create verification test cases to assure: Quality, Functionality, Reliability and Usability of standalone software products or products containing software.
• Execute test cases on standalone software products or products containing software.
• Identify and record software defects within a problem-tracking system.
• Contribute to risk assessments (Hazard Analysis, FMEA) for projects under development.
• Ensure Software Test team deliverables are of a high quality standard and comply with appropriate internal procedures and international standards.
• Undertake reviews of departmental practices to ensure continuous improvement of software test processes.
• Assist in training of company staff in use of internally developed software products.

Essential criteria

• Qualified to degree level in a software related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working within a Software Test environment.
• Previous software management experience.
• Excellent knowledge of software lifecycle and verification processes, including requirements-to-test traceability, risk-control verification, regression testing and documented objective evidence.
• Experience working to strict deadlines.
• Strong knowledge of both manual and automated software testing.

Desirable criteria

• Experience working in in a regulated environment.
• Experience using ALM/PLM tools to track, trace and deliver the testing of Software Requirements
• Experience in the use of bug tracking software such as SpiraPlan, JIRA, Azure DevOps, Zephyr
• Experience in the use of automated test software tools such as Ranorex, Playwright, Selenium, Test Complete
• Ability to develop source code/scripts with at least one programming language.
• Knowledge of IEC 62304 software lifecycle, ISO 14971 risk management, ISO 13485 quality systems and IEC 62366-1 usability engineering or comparable standards for other regulated sectors.
