Job summary

NHS Dumfries and Galloway is seeking an enthusiastic Dental Nurse to join the Public Dental Service, providing patient-centred support across multiple bases in the region.

The role is part-time at 22.5 hours per week, requiring NEBDN or SVQ Level 3 in Dental Nursing, GDC registration, and strong health and safety knowledge to support both patients and the clinical team.

Qualifications

• Dental nurse with clinical experience preferred.
• Must be registered with GDC as a Dental Nurse.
• Solid knowledge of Health & Safety in clinical environments and ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient support within the Public Dental Service.
• Support the clinical team across multiple bases including Dumfries Dental Centre and other locations.
• Contribute to efficient clinic operations and patient flow while maintaining high quality care.

Job description

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Dental Nurse to join our Public Dental Service (PDS) to provide patient-centred dental support in NHS Dumfries & Galloway.

This unique opportunity will see you providing direct and indirect support to both patients and the clinical team. The position is within PDS providing clinical support covering multiple bases within PDS‑including Dumfries Dental Centre, Galloway Community Hospital, Garden Hill Health Centre, Sanquhar Health Centre and HMP Dumfries for 22.5 hours per week.

Relevant clinical experience as a Dental Nurse and NEBDN qualification or SVQ Level 3 in Dental Nursing are essential along with registration with GDC as a Dental Nurse. A sound knowledge of Health & Safety requirements within a clinical environment are essential as well as the ability to find solutions to problems, deal with the pressure of a diverse clinic whilst retaining excellent and efficient communications skills.
