Job summary

Data Centre Technician (24/7 Shift) in Dundee, Scotland, on-site, permanent position. You will monitor critical infrastructure, respond to alarms, support engineering teams and assist with hands-on operations in a live data centre environment.

The role involves maintaining site availability, resilience and customer service standards, with responsibilities spanning inspection, fault response and safety-compliant practices across the facility.

Qualifications

• This role requires hands-on experience with data centre operations and critical facilities.
• Familiarity with BMS or DCIM systems and alarm management is a plus.
• Ability to perform routine inspections and respond to faults quickly.

Responsibilities

• Monitor BMS, DCIM and alarms to identify issues and escalate as needed.
• Inspect critical infrastructure and data halls for faults or abnormal conditions.
• Provide first-line response to alarms and incidents following escalation procedures.
• Support operation of power, cooling and environmental systems in a live data centre.
• Provide hands-on rack installation, equipment deployment and basic diagnostics.
• Assist engineers with maintenance and infrastructure inspections.
• Escort contractors and vendors ensuring safe site practices.
• Support goods-in, asset tracking and inventory tasks, and document shift handovers.
• Monitor environmental conditions and follow health & safety requirements.
