Join our team to provide a safe and effective patient-focused specialist clinical pharmacy service to a specific patient group(s). Support medicines governance and quality improvement activities within specialist areas to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centred systems are in place.

We serve a population of 655,000 across rural and urban communities in North and South Lanarkshire. Our services include Acute Services at three main hospital sites, Corporate & Property & Support Services, and integrated primary healthcare and social care through our Health and Social Care Partnerships.

What We Need From You

1. Masters of Pharmacy Degree
2. Registered member of the General Pharmaceutical Council
3. Independent prescribing qualification or working towards it
4. Postgraduate training and professional development in clinical pharmacy practice
5. Relevant post-registration clinical pharmacy experience
6. Ability to monitor patients' therapeutic regimens effectively
7. Teamwork skills in a pharmacy and multidisciplinary environment
8. Commitment to revalidation as per GPhC guidelines
9. Good communication skills
10. Self-motivation
11. Willingness to participate in weekend and public holiday services
12. Participation in pharmacy emergency duty service
13. Contribute to pharmacy department operations

Note: A full UK/EU/EEA driving licence is required for roles that specify driving duties.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

1. Post-registration experience
2. Hospital pharmacy experience
3. Experience providing clinical pharmacy services to specific patient groups
4. Patient education and information experience
5. Staff supervision experience
6. Research, audit, and project skills

Contract Details

Fixed-term or secondment for 12 months, full-time (37 hours/week).

Note: This is a fixed-term position. Existing NHS Lanarkshire staff applying via secondment must have written approval from their line manager.

Location and Working Pattern

Based at University Hospital Hairmyres with a Monday to Friday, 9:00-17:00 schedule.
