Job Description

The Role

The role involves delivering a comprehensive, highly specialist Speech and Language Therapy service to patients from the neurodivergent community, utilizing evidence-based practice.

Additional Information Specific to the Role

  • Provide high-quality diagnostic assessments and evidence-based post-diagnostic support for individuals with neurodevelopmental conditions.
  • Accountable to the Operational Clinical Manager for Adult Neurodevelopmental Services.
  • Receive regular professional clinical supervision from the Professional Lead.
  • Deliver services across various settings within Lanarkshire.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary neurodevelopmental team.
  • Contribute to service objectives to meet national targets and support service development.
  • Engage in professional development relevant to the specialist role within the Adult Neurodevelopmental Service.

Candidate Requirements
  • Registered Speech and Language Therapist with valid HCPC Registration.
  • Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level.
  • Postgraduate expertise in the specialty demonstrating comprehensive knowledge.
  • Knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience related to relevant conditions and policies.
  • Application of advanced practice skills and clinical judgment.
  • Leadership and management experience.
  • Continuous Professional Development in the area of specialty.
  • Excellent team-working, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective time management and basic IT skills.
  • Full UK/EU/EEA driving license.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Member of RCSLT.
  • Postgraduate leadership/management training.
  • Experience in ASD diagnostic processes.
  • Specialist knowledge and extensive clinical skills in ASD.
  • Active engagement in professional development activities.
  • Knowledge of clinical guidelines and policies.
  • Ability to analyze data to inform service delivery.
Contract Details

Permanent, Part-Time (18.5 hours/week). Salary is pro-rata.

Location and Working Pattern

Based in Kirklands, Bothwell. Working hours: Mon - Fri, 9:00-17:00.
