Job summary

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participation in code reviews, and promotion of a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

As a Developer, you’ll help design, build, test and maintain systems used across Barclays. This is more than writing code; you’ll play a role in solving complex problems for clients and customers. You may work with technologies including Java, C++, C#, Python, SQL, JavaScript/TypeScript, containers, DevOps, cloud, machine learning, scripting, and real-time systems.

To be considered for this opportunity, you'll be motivated with a strong degree or expected degree achieved before June 2027.

Barclays will accept applications from candidates who require visa sponsorship to work in the UK and will provide a skilled worker visa for successful applicants if they meet the Home Office’s eligibility criteria for a skilled worker visa.

Successful applicants who are not eligible to receive a skilled worker visa, and who we are therefore unable to secure a skilled worker visa for, will be required to have their own legal right to work in the UK on a full-time basis from August 2027 to August 2028.
