Job summary

Bregal Milestone LLP is seeking an off-cycle intern to join its London-based investment team for a 6-month period, starting in January or February 2027. The role covers the complete deal lifecycle from sourcing through due diligence, closing, and post-acquisition support, with a focus on software and technology-enabled services.

Ideal candidates have at least 6 months M&A experience, strong modelling skills, and fluency in English plus another European language.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of consecutive experience in M&A.
• Experience in private equity or venture capital is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English and at least one other European language.
• Strong financial modelling experience.
• Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.
• Outstanding academic record with undergraduate or master's from a leading university.

Responsibilities

• Support the investment team in deal sourcing, analyzing industry trends and opportunities.
• Assess growth momentum of key players, business strategy and competitive position.
• Analyse investment opportunities in software and technology-enabled services.
• Assist in building financial models to drive investment decisions.

We are looking to hire off-cycle interns to join our investment team in London, to support the team’s efforts across the complete deal life cycle from sourcing through to due diligence, closing, and post‑acquisition support and monitoring.

Key responsibilities:

• Support the investment team in their deal sourcing efforts, including analyzing and assessing industry trends and opportunities, growth momentum of key players, business strategy, and competitive position
• Analysing investment opportunities within the sectors of software and technology-enabled services
• Assist in building financial models to drive investment decisions
• Prepare written analyses and evaluations of investment opportunities
• Support our portfolio companies across a wide range of topics

What we are looking for:

• A passion for the technology/software industry
• Prior financial modelling experience and strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to think and work independently
• Must-have education: outstanding academic track record, including undergraduate degree and / or master’s degree (or in final year) from a leading university or business school
