Job Description:

Are you a recent graduate looking for work in education? We are working with a SEMH secondary school in Hulme, supporting students with additional needs.

Prospero is seeking graduates to work with pupils from challenging backgrounds. The role starts as soon as possible and continues into September and the rest of the academic year.

You will support pupils 1:1 and in small groups, delivering intervention sessions in maths and providing intensive support to small groups of learners.

The students have been taken out of mainstream education due to mental health or behavioral challenges and need extra pastoral, academic support, and mentoring.

You will be supported by outstanding teachers and a highly recognized leadership team.

Experience, Training, and Qualifications:

• Degree in Psychology or a relevant field such as Maths, English, Sociology, Criminology, Arts, Dance, Drama, Sports, or a background in Health & Social Care.
• Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential.
• Experience working with children or young people with social, emotional, and mental health difficulties is essential.
• A Level 3 qualification in Education, Childcare, or a related field is desirable but not mandatory.
• A genuine passion for promoting students' social and emotional well-being, with empathy and patience.
• Ability to handle challenging behavior professionally and resiliently.
• Familiarity with safeguarding procedures and a commitment to student welfare.
• Up-to-date behaviour management training is desirable (training can be provided).

Eligibility Criteria:

• Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
• Hold an enhanced DBS registered on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
• Provide professional references covering the last 2 years.
