A Certified Nursing Assistant's Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with activities of daily living, including serving meals, feeding patients as needed, and helping with ambulation, turning, and positioning; provide fresh water and nourishment between meals.
- Administer adjunct care such as enemas, douches, non-sterile dressings, surgical preparations, ice packs, heat treatments, sitz and therapeutic baths; and apply restraints as required.
- Monitor patient stability by checking vital signs and weight; test urine and record intake and output.
- Ensure patient comfort by utilizing appropriate resources and materials; transport patients; respond to call lights and requests; report patient observations to the nursing supervisor.
- Document actions by completing necessary forms, reports, logs, and records.
- Maintain smooth work operations by following established policies and procedures.
- Protect patient confidentiality to uphold the organization's value.
- Enhance professional knowledge through educational opportunities, reading publications, participating in organizations, and maintaining licensure.
