Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is recruiting for a 2-month contract with a local authority in Southwark, London. The role focuses on providing high-quality, person-centred support to young people with SEND to achieve EHCP outcomes, promoting independence, confidence, inclusion and wellbeing.

Responsibilities include delivering targeted support, aiding skill development in literacy and numeracy, and coordinating with SEND Progression Mentors.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people or adults with SEND and learning disabilities.
• Experience working with individuals who present behaviours of concern or complex needs.
• Experience facilitating educational, recreational, or life-skills activities either individually or in groups.

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred support and interventions in line with EHCP outcomes.
• Support young people in developing independence, confidence, communication, literacy, numeracy, and life skills.
• Assist SEND Progression Mentors in planning and delivering individual and group learning activities.
• Promote social inclusion by connecting individuals with local services, community opportunities, and digital resources.
• Provide emotional, behavioural, and practical support to encourage participation and engagement.
• Support individuals with personal care requirements, manual handling, and mobility needs where required.
