About the job

Our client, a Challenger Bank, is seeking a 1st Line Operational Risk Manager to join their Operational Risk team based in London.

Responsibilities

1. Work closely with stakeholders across the three lines of defence to ensure risk operates within risk appetite, through the application of appropriate mitigating controls.
2. Identify areas of risk and possess strong knowledge of operational risks and controls.
3. Lead in defining solutions in response to risks that are:
4. i) smart and proportionate,
5. ii) sustainable (e.g., automated controls over manual interventions),
6. iii) considered (holistically addressing issues to improve the risk environment).

• Manage interdependencies to support the delivery of solutions and change initiatives in a timely and high-quality manner.
• Ensure timely delivery of MI and reporting to enable informed, risk-based decision-making.

Previous experience within Operational Risk is preferred.
