Job description

Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE) is a collaboration of the five South East police forces and works with the UK Intelligence community to help protect the public and our national security.

To support this important work, CTPSE’s ICT Team are involved in a range of technical tasks from everyday user support to the discovery and development of new bespoke specialist solutions for trailblazing technologies in policing.

The ICT Support Officer is responsible for resolving or coordinating timely responses to IT issues, thereby ensuring connectivity of technical systems and services is maintained across the unit. You will also help identify common trends and issues to enable areas for investigation by engineers, act as point of contact for some technical facilities and support IT colleagues with day-to-day functions.

Experience within an IT setting isn’t necessary as we believe that enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are the most important qualities alongside good communication skills and the ability to think logically in a fast-paced environment.

In return you will join a small and dynamic team, where we will support your development and learning as you embrace new technologies.

It is essential that you have the flexibility to regularly travel across the South East region as need arises, and therefore a UK driving licence is essential.

Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting level DV. In order to achieve this, you must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past 10 years. Exemptions apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government) and studying abroad. Please be aware that if successful there are limitations on travelling to a small number of countries once in post

You can find more information about security vetting here. Please note that this role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you may be required to travel for business purposes mainly across the South East region and occasionally throughout the UK. Therefore, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence.

You can find more information about security vetting here.
