Job summary

Allianz Partners in the United Kingdom is seeking an UK (1LoD) Risk & Control Officer (RCO) within Regulatory Operations. The role reports to the UK Head of Regulatory Operations and drives first line risk and control activities to sustain growth and regulatory alignment.

The RCO will own risk management, support risk owners, and partner with 2LoD to ensure effective controls and risk reporting. Hybrid work is available with three days per week in the office (Croydon or Birmingham).

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in business, finance, risk, accounting or related field.
• Professional risk/control/audit qualification desirable.
• Experience in first-line risk and internal controls within regulated financial services.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute risk management within the function, documenting processes, risks, controls and residual exposures.
• Design, implement and maintain 1LoD controls aligned with Group and UK frameworks, focusing on operational, change and compliance risks.
• Perform testing of control design and effectiveness per risk-based plan; support RCSA and attestations.
• Track remediation, transformation and enhancement actions including audit findings.
• Provide risk input to change initiatives, ensuring risks are identified and managed during implementation.
• Log and manage incidents, root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Monitor risk appetite metrics, KRIs and control indicators; identify breaches and emerging risks.
• Ensure compliance with third party risk management and AI governance requirements.
• Produce clear, timely risk and control MI for governance forums.
