Job summary

McKeevers Chemists in Belfast is offering a Pharmacy Technician Apprentice (Level 3) on a full-time basis. You will learn on the job, gain a nationally recognised Level 3 qualification, and work towards professional registration as a Pharmacy Technician.

Delivered in partnership with Belfast Met, this two-year programme combines college learning with hands-on experience in a busy community pharmacy, with mentoring and opportunities for long-term progression within the team.

Qualifications

• Two-year, full-time Pharmacy Services Level 3 apprenticeship delivered in partnership with Belfast Met.
• On-the-job learning with hands-on experience to develop professional behaviours and knowledge.
• Successful completion leads to a Level 3 qualification and eligibility for registration as a Pharmacy Technician.

About the Apprenticeship

This is a two-year, full-time Pharmacy Services Level 3 apprenticeship delivered in partnership with Belfast Met. It combines structured college learning with hands‑on experience in a busy pharmacy environment.

You will work alongside experienced pharmacy professionals while developing the technical knowledge, confidence, and professional behaviours required to succeed in the pharmacy sector.

Successful completion leads to:

• A nationally recognised Level 3 qualification
• Eligibility for professional registration as a Pharmacy Technician
• Strong foundations for career progression within pharmacy

What You’ll Learn

Throughout the programme, you will develop the practical and professional skills required to perform safely and effectively in a pharmacy setting, including:

• Dispensing and pharmaceutical procedures
• Patient care and pharmacy operations

• Regulatory and industry knowledge

You will complete the Level 3 Pharmacy Services qualification alongside essential skills training, supported both in college and in the workplace.

Work Placement Pathway

This apprenticeship follows the community pharmacy pathway. Applicants must secure employment within a community pharmacy in Northern Ireland prior to starting the programme.

The role includes:

• A minimum of 21 hours employment per week in a community pharmacy
• One day per week day-release learning at college
