Qualifications

12d or Unit 2 Traffic Management Operative

Location - Salford - Stoke

Salary:up to£178.50per shift depending on location, skills and experience with company bonus, benefits and overtime opportunity. Plus £500 welcome bonus in first pay for all qualified Operatives!

General hours of work are 40 hours per week with overtime opportunity. Hours and shift patterns tend to fall on days; however, you may be also required to work evenings, nights and weekends. You will also be required to be on the on-call rota especially if you have the use of a company van.

Who is Chevron Traffic Management?

In simple terms, Chevron Traffic Management is the company that sets up temporary road or lane closures, diversions routes or pedestrian walkways to keep road workers and road users safe while roadworks are underway. This involves putting out road cones, signage, temporary traffic lights, pedestrian crossings, and barriers. Our work is visible all over the country. Responsibilities of a 12d or Unit 2 Traffic Management Operative:

The 12d or Unit 2 Traffic Management Operative sits at the heart of everything we do.

You will be responsible for:

  • Undertaking traffic counts, calls to clients and subcontractors, timings and near misses.
  • Maintenance of temporary traffic lights
  • Installing, maintaining and removing temporary traffic management such as deploying:
    • cones,
    • signs,
    • frames,
    • sandbags
    • and other equipment .
  • Helping and guiding new trainees

What Good Looks Like for a 12d or Unit 2 Traffic Management Operative:

  • SLG Unit 2 or M1 / M2 qualified as a minimum
  • 12d Lantra qualification is highly desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of Chapter 8
  • Full driving licence, with no more than 6 points. Any driving bans must have been expired for at least 5 years
  • Able to pass a drug and alcohol testyour offer will depend on the outcome of this
  • Positive “can-do” attitude
  • Adaptability and Flexibility
  • Meticulous attention to detail
