Job summary

Croda is seeking an Industrial Placement Student for 12 months in our Sustainable Polymers Team in the UK. You will develop novel, green polymers and perform practical lab work, reporting findings and collaborating with the synthesis team.

You should have an A Level in Chemistry and be on track for a 2:1 in a Chemistry-related degree, with strong lab skills and a passion for sustainability. The role is site-based with on-site facilities and benefits.

Qualifications

• A Level in Chemistry and working towards a 2.1 in a Chemistry or related degree.
• Good laboratory skills with clear written and verbal communication.
• Self-motivated with ability to plan and manage workload.
• Strong teamwork, communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Passion for sustainability and green chemistry.
• Knowledge/experience in polymer chemistry is desirable.
• Awareness of SHE in a lab environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct lab-based research developing novel, sustainable polymers.
• Carry out routine analyses using standard techniques.
• Keep accurate written records and report progress regularly.
• Present updates to the synthesis team and Croda community.
