Job summary

Leonardo UK Ltd in Edinburgh invites applications for a 12-month Industrial Placement. You will work with engineers to gain hands-on experience across the software development lifecycle, delivering practical software solutions and documentation under supervision.

You will be mentored to achieve placement objectives and your personal development goals during the year. This placement provides exposure to software development across multidisciplinary teams, with potential to extend into final year

Qualifications

• Minimum predicted 2:2 in a relevant degree discipline (e.g. Software Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or Electronic Engineering).
• Experience of computer programming and enthusiasm for designing software and writing code.
• Experience with an object-oriented language such as C++ and knowledge of UML is an advantage but not essential.
• A full CV should include a statement of courses and projects studied and corresponding grades/marks.

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day guidance and on-the-job training within the software development lifecycle.
• Contribute to design, implementation, integration and test activities.
• Produce high-quality, well-documented code and progress reports for supervisors.
