Job summary

HORIBA MIRA Ltd in Basildon is seeking a hands-on coordinator to lead technicians in a busy outdoor testing environment. You will prepare vehicles and facilities for testing, allocate tasks, and mentor junior staff while supporting calibration and workshop compliance.

The role requires a mechanical/engineering background with Level 4/HNC and strong IT skills. Candidates should be adaptable and proactive in improving test methods and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience leading, mentoring or coordinating colleagues in a technical/workshop/testing setting.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Good IT skills including Microsoft Office.
• Excellent attention to detail and proactive problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Support preparation of vehicles, test assets and facilities for testing.
• Coordinate daily activities and allocate tasks across the technician team.
• Provide guidance and on‑the‑job training to technicians and junior team members.
• Support calibration, maintenance and workshop compliance activities.
• Maintain high health, safety and environmental standards across the facility.
• Support stock control, equipment readiness and operational efficiency.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of test methods and facilities.
