Job summary

AstraZeneca offers a 12-month University Industrial Placement Student in Analytical Chemistry across Macclesfield and Cambridge, UK. You will deliver analytical activities to support development timelines, working with chemists, engineers and external partners to deliver goals.

The role provides exposure to HPLC, GC, CE, SFC, NMR, UV, FTIR, LC-MS, GC-MS and GMP/GLP standards, with a 36.5-hour week and a structured support network through the university placement programme.

Qualifications

• Currently undertaking an undergraduate degree in Chemistry or related discipline (e.g. Natural Sciences) with the opportunity to spend 1 year in industry starting in September 2027
• Able to provide an encouraged time commitment of 36.5 hours per Monday-Friday working week on Campus

Responsibilities

• Deliver analytical understanding to support progress of developing medicines within a dynamic team environment.
• Work with synthetic chemists, formulation scientists, engineers and external partners to meet project timelines
