Job summary

Ball Corporation in Milton Keynes is seeking a Line/Production Mechanic to support the plant's production goals and equipment performance. You will work across days, nights and weekends on a 12-hour shift pattern, contributing to safety, quality and productivity in a high-volume can manufacturing environment.

The role requires an apprenticeship or time-served engineering experience with strong maintenance and troubleshooting skills, plus fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Apprenticeship in a Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering discipline or equivalent time-served engineering experience.
• Experience with preventative and planned maintenance activities.
• Ability to assist with equipment breakdowns, troubleshooting, and line conversions.
• Strong communication skills with clear explanation of processes; English fluency required.

Responsibilities

• Operate, adjust, and support production equipment to ensure cans meet quality and target volumes.
• Monitor ink levels and assist with design changeovers efficiently.
• Complete machine cleaning activities and quality checks within required timeframes.
• Follow safety practices and procedures for safe operations.
• Support food safety requirements and standard operating procedures.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs while coordinating with the department.
