Job summary

People In Power is seeking a Project Manager with experience in electrical installation up to 11kV to lead high‑voltage and multi‑utility projects across the UK. You will coordinate internal teams, subcontractors and clients to ensure safe, efficient delivery of complex assets from inception to handover.

You will drive planning, cost control and risk mitigation, maintaining high standards of safety, quality and client satisfaction while leading cross‑functional teams and external partners.

Qualifications

  • HV electrical or multi-utility project delivery experience.
  • Projects up to 11kV exposure.
  • Engineering or construction qualification (HNC/HND/Degree/NVQ5) or equivalent.
  • Strong planning, commercial management and contract delivery skills.
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders and teams.

Responsibilities

  • Take full responsibility for planning, execution and delivery of assigned projects.
  • Ensure all works comply with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain project programmes with progress monitoring and recovery plans.
  • Lead site-based management teams, providing direction and performance management.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
  • Manage project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractor resources to meet programmes.
  • Monitor project costs, forecasts and budgets to achieve profitability.
  • Review contractual obligations to ensure alignment with client expectations.
  • Oversee subcontractor performance and ensure safe, on-time delivery.
  • Provide regular reporting to senior management on progress and financials.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

We have exclusively partnered with a national Tier 1 EPC that delivers complex utility and power projects across the UK, working with both public and private sector clients.

We are looking to secure a Project Manager experienced in electrical installation up to 11kV. Taking ownership of the successful delivery of multiple high-voltage and multi-utility projects, ensuring they are executed safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Providing leadership from project commencement through to completion, coordinating internal teams, subcontractors and clients to achieve outstanding project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full responsibility for the planning, execution and successful delivery of assigned projects.

  • Ensure all works are carried out in line with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.

  • Develop and maintain project programmes, monitoring progress and implementing recovery plans where required.

  • Lead site-based management teams, providing direction, coaching and performance management.

  • Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, statutory authorities and supply chain partners.

  • Manage project risks, identifying potential issues early and implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.

  • Coordinate labour, plant, materials and subcontractor resources to meet programme requirements.

  • Monitor project costs, forecasts and budgets, ensuring commercial objectives and profitability are achieved.

  • Review contractual obligations and ensure project delivery aligns with client and business expectations.

  • Oversee subcontractor performance, ensuring work is delivered safely, on programme and to specification.

  • Provide regular project reporting to senior management, highlighting progress, risks and financial performance.

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and operational excellence across the project team.

You will have

Proven experience managing HV electrical or multi-utility infrastructure projects.

  • Previous responsibility for projects involving electrical networks up to 11kV.

  • A recognised qualification such as HNC, HND, Degree or NVQ Level 5 (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering or construction discipline.

  • Strong understanding of project planning, commercial management and contract delivery.

  • Experience overseeing multiple stakeholders, including clients, designers, subcontractors and operational teams.

  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.

  • A proactive approach to problem solving with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.

  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality and customer service.
