Job summary

East Kent Mencap is seeking a dedicated 1:2:1 Support Worker for the Sheerness Hub. You will provide personalised support during sessions and lunchtimes, helping the Member participate, develop independence and enjoy a positive, fulfilling experience at the Hub.

Role requires Level 2/NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care; epilepsy and buccal medication training will be provided. Driver not essential, and the job offers pro rata leave, pension, and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2/NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
• Health and Social Care training desirable.
• Experience as a Support Worker is beneficial.
• Demonstrates empathy and good listening skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop in a person-centred role.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:2:1 support during Hub sessions and lunchtimes to help the Member participate and develop independence.
• Support the Member to enjoy a positive and fulfilling experience at the Hub; shifts 6.5 hours across up to three days a week.
