Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Middlesbrough is seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil in a welcoming primary school. This part-time position focuses on providing dedicated one-to-one support and helping the pupil engage in lessons.

You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and support staff to implement behaviour strategies and foster a calm, supportive learning environment that promotes confidence and social development.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with challenging behaviour.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Ability to build positive relationships with children.
• Experience in primary or SEN settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.
• Implement behaviour support strategies in line with policies.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with the pupil.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour choices.
• Assist with classroom learning and engagement in lessons.
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support staff.
• Promote the pupil's confidence, independence and social development.
