Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd. is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Tutor to teach Maths and English to students who cannot attend a standard education setting, in East Yorkshire and online.

Sessions range from two to six hours daily, with responsibilities to build positive relationships and tailor learning around EHCPs. You will plan and deliver targeted lessons, liaise with schools for schemes of work, and complete weekly progress reports.

Qualifications

• Experience of teaching young people
• Ability to teach Maths & English
• Comprehensive understanding of working with young people with EHCPs
• Experience implementing de-escalation strategies in challenging situations with young people
• Be able to work in the Rochdale area

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships and help students overcome barriers to learning
• Plan and deliver Maths & English lessons
• Implement teaching and learning strategies based around the student's EHCP and adjust to maintain focus and motivation
• Liaise with schools to gain schemes of work and report issues or concerns as needed
• Complete weekly reports of student engagement and attainment, and record weekly attendance
