Are you a compassionate, adaptable individual with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs? We are currently seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Accrington, working with pupils across Reception to Year 4.
This is a full-time position providing dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with a range of SEN, including:
ADHD
Autism
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
You will be working closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to help pupils access the curriculum, manage behaviours, and achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Provide tailored support on a 1:1 basis, adapting strategies to suit individual needs
Foster positive relationships and encourage emotional regulation
Support learning across various subjects in line with class planning
Contribute to assessment, planning and progress reporting
Encourage social interaction and help build pupils' confidence
A kind, patient and empathetic nature
Experience working with children with SEN (particularly ADHD, Autism, SEMH)
The ability to be flexible and responsive to changing needs
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A proactive and supportive approach to behaviour management
