A primary school in Forest Row is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide one-on-one support for a child with Cerebral Palsy. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child's learning journey.
About the Role:
* Mornings Only: Work Monday to Friday, 8:30am-12:30pm (flexible hours may be considered).
* Start: Start date is either ASAP or January 2025.
* Individualized Support: Provide one-on-one support to a child with Cerebral Palsy, adapting your approach to meet their individual needs and promote their development.
Ideal Candidate:
* Experience working with children: While experience with Cerebral Palsy is ideal, we welcome applications from candidates who have experience working with children with diverse needs or have a strong foundation in supporting children's learning and development.
* Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills: The ability to build a positive relationship with the child, communicate effectively, and create a trusting and nurturing environment.
* Patience and Empathy: A calm and understanding nature to support the child's learning and emotional needs.
* Adaptability and Flexibility: The willingness to learn new approaches and adapt teaching strategies to meet the child's specific requirements.
* Commitment to Inclusion: An understanding of how to create an inclusive classroom environment that celebrates individual differences.
* A Positive and Encouraging Attitude: A willingness to inspire and support the child's progress.
* Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or working with children with disabilities are advantageous but not essential.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
