Job summary

Axcis Education Recruitment is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant for a primary school in Blandford Forum. You will provide targeted 1:1 support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs, while collaborating with a supportive school team.

The role involves assisting with lessons, promoting independence and positive behaviors, and helping with IEPs. A Level 2/3 TA qualification and safeguarding commitment are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs is essential.
  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a primary school is highly desirable.
  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

  • Attend staff meetings, training sessions and professional development.

1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Blandford Forum, Dorset
Contract: Full-Time

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs to achieve their full potential? We are looking for a caring and motivated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Blandford Forum. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to provide dedicated support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs while working alongside an experienced and supportive school team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver individualised 1:1 support tailored to the pupil's learning and developmental needs.
  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and classroom activities.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and positive social interactions.
  • Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assist with preparing learning materials and maintaining an organised classroom.
  • Support positive behaviour management in line with the school's policies.
  • Monitor, record, and report on pupil progress.
