Classroom Recruiters is proud to partner with a reputable school in the Belper area in their search for dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistants. If you have experience supporting children or young people in an education setting and a real passion for helping pupils succeed, we want to hear from you.

You will work at one school and be assigned a child to work with for the rest of the academic year.

After successful completion of a 10-week trial period, you will start your permanent contract and have a 6 month statuary probation period.

This is a great opportunity to work in a school that has fantastic facilities for the children and really is welcoming to new staff.

Hours: 8:15 - 4:15 pm

Days a week: Ideally full-time, but we do have part-time available, a minimum of 3 days a week.

  • Learning Support: You will assist the class teacher in adapting tasks and resources, offering practical guidance and encouragement to help the pupil build confidence and independence.
  • Support with Additional Needs: Many 1:1 roles involve supporting pupils with SEND, including communication needs, attention and concentration, or emotional regulation. Experience with a range of needs is highly valued.
  • Behaviour and Wellbeing Support: You will help the pupil manage routines, transitions and expectations, using positive strategies to support behaviour, emotional wellbeing and social interaction.
  • Collaborative Approach: You will work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and pastoral teams, contributing to support plans and maintaining consistent approaches in and out of the classroom.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication is essential for sharing updates with staff, liaising with parents where appropriate, and working alongside external professionals to ensure the pupil receives joined-up support.
