Job summary

POWYS COUNTY COUNCIL is seeking a Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child with behaviour, communication, emotional and social development needs in school. The successful candidate will have experience with Additional Learning Needs and be open to training to expand their knowledge.

The role requires collaboration with the Class Teacher/ALNCO and other professionals, flexibility, pro-activity and strong organisational and interpersonal skills to build professional relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience of working 1:1 with children with behaviour and development needs.
• Experience collaborating with Class Teacher/ALNCO and other professionals.
• Willingness to undertake training to enhance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to the child in school.
• Support learning activities and maintain positive relationships with staff.
• Be flexible, proactive and hands-on in classroom duties.
