Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. in Skelmersdale is seeking caring, resilient staff to provide 1:1 support to pupils in a SEN setting. Roles available full-time or part-time, start ASAP subject to safeguarding checks. Pay is £14.25–£15.00 per hour with DBS support and ongoing consultant assistance.

You will help with learning, emotional regulation, and social development, while building positive relationships with pupils who may display challenging behaviours.

Qualifications

  • Experience working within SEN, education, care, support work, residential care, or similar settings.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.

  • Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to the needs of pupils.

Responsibilities

We are seeking caring, resilient, and enthusiastic individuals to support pupils on a 1:1 basis within a specialist educational setting. The school supports children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and additional behavioural needs, so experience working with vulnerable individuals is highly desirable.

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support to pupils throughout the school day.
  • Supporting students with their learning, emotional regulation, and social development.
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with children who may display challenging behaviours.
  • Working closely with teachers and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and engagement in education.
  • Experience working within SEN, education, care, support work, residential care, or similar settings.
  • Experience supporting individuals with additional needs and/or challenging behaviours.
  • A patient, nurturing, and resilient approach.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to the needs of pupils.
  • Competitive hourly pay of £14.25 - £15.00 per hour.
