Randstad Education Leeds is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Support Assistant for a warm primary setting in Leeds. This part-time role helps a pupil access the daily curriculum and supporting inclusion within the classroom.

You will work with the class teacher and SENDCo to implement IEPs, adapt activities, and support emotional regulation and independence. The position offers ongoing work for the rest of the school year with strong potential for extension.

Formación

• Experience supporting children with additional educational or sensory needs in education, care, or early years.
• Patient, warm and adaptable approach tailored to individual learning styles.
• GCSE English and Maths at C/4 or above.
• Enhanced DBS registered with Update Service (or willingness to apply).
• Strong interpersonal skills and collaboration with staff and parents.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a primary pupil, helping them access the daily curriculum and stay engaged.

• Work in close partnership with the class teacher and SENDCo to execute Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

• Adapt classroom activities, visual schedules, and learning resources to meet the child's specific needs.

• Foster emotional regulation, social confidence, and independence through consistent praise and positive reinforcement.

• Assist during morning routines, lesson transitions, and outdoor break periods to ensure a safe learning space.

• Keep gentle, accurate notes on daily progress to share with the teaching team and parents.

Requirements for the Role

• Practical experience supporting children with additional educational or sensory needs in a school, care, or early years setting.

• A patient, warm, and highly adaptable approach tailored to individual learning styles.

• Good foundational qualifications (GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English Language and Mathematics).

• A valid Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).

• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset to work effectively with staff and parents.
