Job summary

The Treetops @ Bridgeview Special School is seeking a Specialist Teaching & Learning Support Assistant to provide 1-1 support for pupils with speech, language and communication needs. Based at Pickering Road, the role focuses on academic, social and emotional development in small classes.

The post is fixed term until 31 August 2027, 32.5 hours per week, term time only, with training days. Salary ranges £20,606–£21,270 with a full-time equivalent of £27,274–£28,153.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work 1-1 and in small groups within a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-1 support to pupils to enhance academic, social and emotional progress.
• Support with learning activities and classroom resources.
• Assist with behaviour management and safeguarding of pupils.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
