Job summary

AP Education in Sheffield is seeking SEND Tutors to provide 1:1 support to learners with SEND/SEMH. You will deliver maths, English or science while applying therapeutic, compassionate approaches tailored to each learner's needs.

This role offers up to 30 hours per week during term time, guaranteed weekly pay, access to flexible curriculum platforms, training videos, and CPD opportunities with support from an Education Coordinator.

Qualifications

• Proven experience teaching or tutoring children with SEND/SEMH.
• QTS or HLTA preferred; candidates with 2 years UK experience without qualifications are welcome.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver core subjects or SEND-specific content.
• Implement behaviour management using positive strategies.
• Provide a therapeutic, adaptable approach tailored to individual needs.
• Perform baseline academic and emotional assessments.
• Prepare progress reports and liaise with external professionals (SALT, OT, Social Workers).
• Manage attendance reporting and assist learners transitioning to mainstream or specialist settings.
