Job summary

AP Education is recruiting a SEND Tutor (QTS) for 1:1 support in Cheltenham. The role offers up to 30 hours per week during term time, with an hourly rate of £30–£36.

You will work with learners with SEND/SEMH, autism, and related needs, delivering core subjects or SEND-specific support. Qualifications

• Experience teaching or tutoring children with SEND/SEMH requirements.
• Ability to support learners with diverse needs including autism and SEMH.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, compassionate approach.

Responsibilities

• Deliver core subjects (Maths, English, Science) or SEND-specific.
• Implement effective behaviour management using positive strategies.
• Provide a therapeutic and adaptable approach to education to meet individual needs.
• Perform baseline academic and emotional assessments to inform targeted support.
• Liaise with external professionals to facilitate multi-agency collaboration.
• Manage daily attendance reporting using attendance software.
• Assist learners in transitioning to mainstream or specialist settings.
