Job summary

Envision Education in Marlow is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a pupil with SEND in a mainstream classroom. This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:00pm, with an immediate start and a focus on inclusive teaching practices.

The successful candidate will help with learning, development, and social skills, working closely with teachers and the SEND team to ensure the pupil can access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated one-to-one support to a pupil with SEND.
• Support the pupil with learning, development and classroom activities.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to support individual learning needs.
• Assist the pupil with communication, social and emotional development.
• Support children with additional learning, behavioural or communication needs.
• Encourage pupil to develop confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
• Adapt activities and provide appropriate support to access the curriculum.
• Help the pupil overcome barriers to learning and participate in school life.
• Build a positive, trusting relationship with the pupil.
• Support the pupil inside and outside the classroom.
• Encourage positive interaction with peers and social development.
• Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Promote safety, wellbeing and inclusion of the pupil.
• Work collaboratively with teachers and SEND staff to ensure appropriate support.
