Job summary

Baden-Powell & St Peter’s CE Junior School is seeking a compassionate 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant (Level 2) to support a pupil with SEND. The role is 32.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 8.30am–3.30pm, term-time across 39 weeks, with a fixed-term contract to August 2027.

The successful candidate will work with teachers to promote learning, manage behaviour, and help the pupil access learning in a caring, inclusive environment. Salary ranges from £19,877 to £20,192 per annum pro rata.

Qualifications

• English and Maths GCSE grade C or above.
• NVQ level 2 qualification for teaching assistants or equivalent.
• Experience with SEND is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with SEND.
• Encourage learning, promote high standards of behaviour.
• Work collaboratively with classroom staff to deliver activities.
