Job summary

AP Education is seeking dedicated SEND Tutors to deliver 1:1 support in Lewes, East Sussex. You will work with students from Early Years through KS4, focusing on core subjects or SEND-specific learning, in a face-to-face setting.

You will assess progress, communicate with parents and professionals, and implement therapeutic, trauma-informed approaches. QTS/HLTA preferred; flexible hours up to 30 per week during term-time, with weekly pay and ongoing CPD opportunities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience teaching or tutoring children with SEND/SEMH.
• Background in education, youth work, or therapeutic settings is valued.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face 1:1 support across Early Years to KS4.
• Deliver Maths, English, Science or SEND-specific sessions.
• Use positive behaviour management strategies to support learners.
• Complete daily/weekly progress reports and liaise with external professionals when needed.
• Assist learners in transitioning to mainstream or specialist education settings as appropriate.
