Job summary

Prospero Teaching in Fareham is seeking a patient SEN Tutor to support a young person in 1:1 tuition, working face-to-face while a suitable school placement is identified.

You will focus on building trust and engagement, with experience supporting learners with Autism and ASC, aiming to gradually increase educational input over time. The role involves up to 15 hours per week across 3-hour sessions, Monday to Friday, with travel locally if needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' experience delivering tuition or teaching within an educational setting.
• Experience supporting learners with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and additional needs.
• Strong understanding of SEND and personalised learning approaches.
• Ability to build positive relationships and establish trust gradually.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 face-to-face tuition to support the learner.
• Build trust and gradually increase educational input.
• Support behaviour management with carer presence during sessions.
• Coordinate with Local Authorities for suitable placement opportunities.
