Job summary

Academics in Wirral is seeking an Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join an SEN school and support a pupil on a 1:1 basis. You will play a key role in learning, development and wellbeing, building positive relationships and helping create a supportive classroom environment.

The successful candidate will be confident managing behaviour and be proactive, adaptable, and willing to go the extra mile to make a difference in the lives of young people.

Qualifications

• Has previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within an SEN school or specialist setting.
• Has strong experience supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour.
• Is confident managing behaviour in a calm, positive and consistent way.
• Is proactive and enthusiastic about engaging with pupils.
• Can build trusting and positive relationships with young people.
• Is patient, resilient and understanding.
• Is passionate about supporting children and young people to achieve their potential.
• Is willing to get involved and go the extra mile to make a difference.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a 1:1 basis to aid learning, development and wellbeing.
• Build positive relationships and encourage engagement in lessons.
