Job summary

Academics is recruiting an experienced 1:1 SEN Support Worker to join an outstanding school in Wirral. This full-time role offers a long-term opportunity to support a pupil with complex needs and make a meaningful difference in their school experience and wellbeing.

You will provide 1:1 support, collaborate with teachers and the support team, and help the pupil access learning, develop independence, and feel confident in the school environment.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of SEN and related challenges.
• Experience working with children and young people.
• Experience with complex physical needs is desirable.
• Caring, patient and empathetic approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow individual care and learning plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with complex physical needs.
• Work closely with the class teacher and wider support team.
• Help the pupil access learning and engage in school life.
• Support the pupil to develop independence and confidence within school.
