Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a Trainee Teaching Assistant to support a child on a 1:1 basis in a primary setting. You will work closely with the class teacher, fostering a calm, encouraging environment and helping the pupil access activities with peers.

Experience is desirable but not essential; training and development opportunities, including CPD, are provided. The role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, with competitive PAYE rates and ongoing support from Protocol Education.

Qualifications

• Positive attitude and self-motivation are essential.
• Calm, reassuring nature helps working with children.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teaching and support staff.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in how you work.
• Develop knowledge of pupil needs and seek advice when required.
• Provide positive reinforcement and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a pupil alongside the class teacher.
• Help the pupil integrate into class activities and progress.
• Follow guidance from SENCo and teaching staff as needed.
• Contribute to a positive, safe learning environment.
