Job summary

Protocol Education is currently recruiting for a trainee teaching assistant to support a child on a 1:1 basis and help them engage with classroom activities. The role emphasizes building positive relationships and adapting support to meet individual needs.

The position runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm. No formal qualifications are required, with a focus on passion and dedication to making a difference in a child’s life. CPD training is provided along with ongoing support from our team.

Qualifications

• Be positive and self-motivated.
• Have a calm and reassuring nature.
• Be able to work collaboratively with teaching and support staff.
• Have a willingness to learn and be adaptable in the way they work.
• Ensure that the pupil can integrate as fully as possible in the activities generally undertaken by the other children in the class and make progress.
• Developing knowledge of the particular needs of the pupil and seeking advice from the SENCo, class teacher and outside agencies as required.
• Provide positive reinforcement and have the ability to work as a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to the pupil assigned by the class teacher.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering activities and managing classroom routines.
• Help the pupil engage with peers and participate in group activities.
• Monitor pupil progress and report updates to the teaching staff.
